The Moors and Christians “fiestas”, which take place all over Spain go back to the centuries of Moorish domination which made a big impact on the country’s culture, cuisine, language and traditions. Especially noteworthy in Moraira are the” l’Ampolla” beach disembarkation with five boats at night, the floral offering and, above all, the splendid gala parade.

12:00 Informal parade of the filas followed by the firing of Blunderbusses at the Castle
18:00 Parade of the bands from the Castle to Avd Portet
19.00 Spectacular Parade of the Christians and then the Moors, followed by a grand firework display.
FIESTAS DE MOROS Y CRISTIANOS EN MORAIRA
Las fiestas de Moros y Cristianos tienen lugar en muchos lugares de España y se remontan a la dominación morísca, la cual tuvo un gran impacto en la cultura del país, cocina, lenguaje y tradiciones. Especialmente destacado en Moraira es el desembarco que tiene lugar en la playa “l’Ampolla”, por cinco barcos, la ofrenda floral y sobretodo el desfile de gala.

24.00h Retreta popular desde la explanada del Castillo de Moraira. A continuación Noche de Cábilas con charangas en la Avenida del Portet, Calle Almacenes, Juan XXIII y Calle Dénia.
Domingo 14 de junio
9.00h Despertada general con arcabuces.
12.00h Pasacalle informal.
12.30h Disparo de arcabucería en la Explanada del Castillo.
18.00h Entrada de Bandas de Música desde el Castillo hasta el Fortí.
19.00h Gran Desfile de Gala de los Bandos Moro y Cristiano. Al finalizar el desfile castillo de fuegos artificiales.
