This visit cannot be missed, it is the starting point to begin your visit, here you will find the plaque of the origin of the roads, the Km. 0, the mythical clock of the New Year’s chimes, it is a meeting place, there are always people coming and going, you have to enjoy it calmly and discover everything that surrounds it, and to culminate you must not forget to pass by the Mallorquina pastry shop that since 1894 has been sweetening the palate of residents and visitors.
Plaza Mayor
After visiting the Puerta del Sol, we can walk down the Calle Mayor and we will find the Plaza Mayor, this beautiful square is surrounded by beautiful buildings, its more than 10,800 square metres will captivate us, and we can enjoy a meal or an aperitif in any of its terraces, which at dusk takes on a special air. In December in this same square there is a very busy Christmas market.
Royal Palace
The Royal Palace is located in the Plaza de la Armería, opposite the Almudena Cathedral. It was once the official residence of the kings of Spain, and is now a tourist attraction, except on occasions when it is closed to the public for official ceremonies. This Palace is surrounded by beautiful gardens, such as the Sabatini Gardens, from where there is a good panoramic view of the whole landscape. There are guided tours of the interior, including the Royal Armoury.
Retiro Park
An immense park to take a long walk and enjoy its beautiful gardens and possibly meet street artists, and depending on the time of the year, you can also enjoy a boat ride on the pond, as well as visit the crystal palace.
Cibeles Fountain
Surrounded by beautiful buildings such as the Town Hall and the Bank of Spain, is the Cibeles fountain, located in the square that bears the same name, many of us have seen this fountain in the victories of the Real Madrid football team, this is a classic meeting point.
